Herbal Remedies for Improving Your Health

Strawberry Leaf Tea

It’s amazing that the some of the same fruits we love to consume during the summertime are the same fruits that also contain potent properties within their leaves. Strawberry leaves are a well known herbal remedy that has been used for many years throughout the world. The great thing about strawberry leaves is that they are completely natural, and gentle on an upset stomach. Strawberry leaves are wonderful for any person experiencing stomach discomfort, and they have also been known to help pregnant women deal with nausea more effectively.

The strawberry leaf contains a high number of tannins, antioxidant flavanoids, and some essential oil. Normally, you can purchase just the leaves, but sometimes you may be able to find the stem, and flowers as well. Though you can find strawberry leaves in bag, or capsule, form, it is best to use the dried herb in a simple tea infusion. Specifically, strawberry leaves are used to treat diarrhea, nausea, chlamydia, gonorrhea, bladder problems, digestive problems, aches, pains, skin problems, rheumatism, and for weight loss.

All strawberry plants contain leaves that can be dried and used in a tea, but make sure that you are using only two teaspoons at the most. Also, do not ingest the leaves or the stems, instead allow them to steep for twenty minutes or so. Strawberry leaves should be avoided if you are allergic to the fruit, and they have been known to cause some people excessive bloating. If you are experiencing stomach pain, or nausea from pregnancy, strawberry leaves are safe, natural, and a great alternative to strong medications.
